JENNESSA
Jennessa is an educator, activist, and self-taught artist based in Central Massachusetts. She channels her passion for the arts to emphasize its therapeutic benefits, foster community, and highlight the power of public art.
Working with acrylics, mixed media, and murals, Jennessa expresses deep emotion while amplifying her voice and those of her communities. Her work often celebrates the beauty, strength, and resilience of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), addressing the lack of representation in many art spaces and the silencing of their stories throughout history.
Through her art, Jennessa aims to bring joy and visibility to those who feel unseen while encouraging awareness among those who experience the privilege of being recognized. These pieces are part of her Inspired by Intersectionality series, featuring black light-reactive paint to create a dynamic new dimension.
